What
Incredible show coming up! Tan Haw is back from Mexico, in their first performance in NYC this season. With special guest Anjali Rose.
Tan Haw is the stage name of Mani Nilchiani, an Iranian musician who splits his time between Brooklyn and Mexico, trained in Setâr and the Radif tradition, moving between Persian classical roots, psych-rock, and electronica across Persian, Azerbaijani, English, and Spanish.
His music fuses sonic landscapes from the Iranian musical tradition with contemporary expression, exploring home as a space of memory and transit.
He has performed at MoMA PS1, Symphony Space, Public Records, and El Barrio's Artspace (New York), and at La Bestia, Aire Libre, and ATEA (Mexico City). His debut album, Roya-ye Mahtâb (Soñar con la luna), is set for release in Autumn 2026.
He will be joined by Kate Pass on bass and Yahya Alkhansa on drums.
Anjali Rose is a New York–based songwriter, producer, and multidisciplinary artist working across indie folk, experimental pop, and film score. Her work has included the score in the Oscar-qualified short Gabriela, releases spanning solo and collaborative projects, and performances across the U.S. and Europe.
We have an awesome sponsor for this show. SAG ARAGH is a distilled spirit made from raisins which first originated in Iran. Though it has been banned for decades, it still thrives in underground circles over there, and has been revived here in NYC by a circle of Iranian artists and friends. It's great! Prepare for a new cocktail.
